SLJ Week 1 Day 1 Activity 2

My hometown is Hokitika on the West Coast of the South Island, the "Cool Little Town" has many  artist and sculptors that show their work around the place. The beach side town hosts a driftwood and  sand competition each year, I won the kids competition in 2016 with my brother and his friend. There are 3 main restaurants in Hoki, Stumpers, Fat Pippi's Pizza and Stellas. We also have a supermarket (new World) swimming pool and some shops.

  1. Hi Jake

You live in a really lovely little town. I just love coming to Hokitika. The icon driftwood sign of 'Hokitika' on the beach is well known all around the world. It is so cool!

Wow! You won the driftwood/sand competition!! What was your entry? And most important do you have a picture of your creation? I would love to see it if you do!!

I live in Greymouth but I really like to come to Hokitika and have a look around your shops and I do agree with you, you have some really nice cafes and restaurants. I have never had Fat Pipis pizza but everyone talks about how good it is!
Have you had it before? If so, what pizza do you recommend?
I will have to try it next time I am in Hokitika.

I really like going to the Hokitika Gorge also. I think this is one of the most beautiful places in New Zealand.

Well done Jake, I enjoyed reading all about Hokitika.

    Keep up the great work!

    Until next time

    Allie :)

    1. Hello Allie, I have only been to Fat Pipis twice! I would recommend the Hawaiian. I don't have a photo of my sculpture, it was of a futuristic mine, mining for rubbish left by us to recycle instead of mining for gold.

  2. Hi Jake

YUM! I like hawaiian too. I think I would get that one. Your sculpture sounds really cool.
