Dear Family
Over here we have had VERY cold weather, it has been up to -300C! Yesterday we did a lap around the camp and a got frostbite on my finger! They say they won't have to chop it off but I needed to keep my finger warm. The tundra is like a FREEZING COLD desert with a couple of shrubs. It has been pretty cool over in the tundra but I hope I can go home soon!

SLJ Week 1 Day 5 Activity 1
I think logging should be allowed IF it is only logging sustain ably and NOT chopping down native trees. Sustainable logging is good for the environment because humans need timber products to survive. Logging non native trees that grow back quickly (30 or so years) is good because if we chop down native trees that take 1000 years to grow back we won't have an trees.

SJL Week 1 Day 3 Activity 2
Being a D.O.C. Ranger
pros cons
you get to live with wildlife you might not be able to get much sleep (overwhelming noises)
you can take amazing photos you could fall into a Tomo
you might find a new species you would have to deal with unpredictable weather
I would not want to be a D.O.C. Ranger
SLJ Week 1 Day 3 Activity 1
My beast has 4 huge webbed feet, translucent wings like a fly, a mane of a tiger and a furry body of a bear. It eats only ferns but defends itself from predators at will. It burrows into trees near swamps, this creature lives for three and a half years.

My hometown is Hokitika on the West Coast of the South Island, the "Cool Little Town" has many artist and sculptors that show their work around the place. The beach side town hosts a driftwood and sand competition each year, I won the kids competition in 2016 with my brother and his friend. There are 3 main restaurants in Hoki, Stumpers, Fat Pippi's Pizza and Stellas. We also have a supermarket (new World) swimming pool and some shops.
