My name is Emiely (pronounced "Emily") and along with Ellee, I'm another blogger at the Summer Learning journey who will be blogging with you this summer.
Great job thinking of some similarities and differences between your house and a wharepuni. My house has an iron roof too. I think it's much stronger than a thatched roof! Maybe you could add a picture of a wharepuni so that people who don't know what a wharepuni is will be able to see what it looks like.
Have you ever seen a wharepuni before or any other Maori building? What is it used for? At my university, we have a marae. We use our marae to welcome new students.
Also, I've heard that there has been lots of flooding in the West Coast! How are you doing down there? Is there any flooding at your house?
Great start to the Summer Learning Journey! Keep up the great blogging.
