My hometown is Hokitika on the West Coast of the South Island, the "Cool Little Town" has many  artist and sculptors that show their work around the place. The beach side town hosts a driftwood and  sand competition each year, I won the kids competition in 2016 with my brother and his friend. There are 3 main restaurants in Hoki, Stumpers, Fat Pippi's Pizza and Stellas. We also have a supermarket (new World) swimming pool and some shops.

Mr Yippadee!

On Thursday Deano Yippadee (his real name is Dean O'Brian) came to school and taught us about writing picture books. We wrote one in 30 Minutes! His advise was "Fire, Then Aim" which means to write the story then go through and fix it up. Later in the day he performed some of his books as songs.

People Savers

This week has been full of things. On Monday we had People Savers with someone called Mandy, People Savers is all about first aid and how to stop someone from dying. We went over D.r.S.A.B.C.D or Doctors ABC. You use it if someone is unconscious.
